Moscow is the capital of Russia. It was founded 8 centuries ago byYuri Dolgoruky. Historians have accepted the year of 1147 as the startof Moscows history. 
Now Moscow is one of the biggest cities in Europe. 
Theheart of Moscow is Red Square, the central and the most beautifulsquare in Moscow. Here you can see the Cathedral of St. Basil theBlessed. Its a masterpiece of Russian architecture. But first of alleverybody knows Red Square because the Kremlin is situated here. TheKremlin is the oldest historical and architectural center of Moscow.There are three cathedrals, the Bell Tower of Ivan the Great, TheSpassky Tower with the clock attract the tourists attention. TheTzar-cannon and Tzar-bell the biggest cannon and bell in the world.
Moscowis also famous for its museums. At the Tretyakov Gallery paintings ofthe great russian artists are collected and at the Museum of Fine Artsthere are masterpieces of european painters.
There are a lot of theatres in Moscow. The best-known is the Bolshoi Opera House.
Moscow has the oldest Russian Univercity founded in 1755 by Lomonosov.
The Metro opened in 1935  is being constantly extended. It is one of the tourists attractions of the russian capital.
