Making tea is no
problem. I put one tea bag in a mug, wiggle it three times, remove it without
squeez­ing and save it. In this way I
can have a days supply of pale orange hot water: the sugar and milk do the
main job. I have a friend in a similar position to me financially, but her
cupboards are full of food and cleaning materials — not to mention enough
toilet paper. But she hasnt got a Lambeth Doulton vase.

Im just recovering from the dress I bought for a special
occasion. Ive now stopped watering down the milk (a tip my like-minded niece
gave me).

Soon Ill need new make-up. That will certainly cause of lot
of wiggling of tea bags. It may even mean not paying water bills again. I
wonder if theyll ever cut my water off? I cant get too worried about that. I
mean water its everywhere. I could al­ways borrow some
of that without having to repay it.

Ive been thinking about redecorating my sitting room this year. The two
things, which stop me, are the high ceilings and the possible disconnection of
my telephone because of the cost of the paint
