The first U.S. President, known to all Americans, was a "Father of thenation" George Washington. George was born in Virginia in the family of aplanter. When he was 11, his father died. The family had a lot of landbut lacked the money to send George school in England, which went richchildren at that time. The boy went to a private school and after 2personal teacher taught him as a military and Virginia gentleman. Georgestudied uzdeti on horseback, hunting, shooting and swimming. April 30, 1789, alarge crowd, he promised to preserve and defend the Constitution of theUnited States. It was when Washington was the first President and servedtwo terms. He refused 3rd term and retired to mount Vernon, where hedied two years later.
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President ofthe USA. As George Washington, he received a special place in the listof American presidents.
He grew up in the Midwest. His firsthouse was small: 1 bedroom house in the forest. His family were pioneerswho helped in the war with the Indians and pushed through them abroadUSA farther West. The family lived in poverty. His family moved toKentucky in Indiana when Abraham was 7. His mother encouraged his ambition to study.Although he had little chance to get to school, he liked to read. Hestudied reading books. Such as the Bible, Aesops Fables and RobinsonCrusoe. He often traveled far and wide to take the book in debt.
Abrahamgrew fast. He learned to do the heavy pioneering work, such as chopdown trees, and care of crops. He usually won durability test, whenarguing with the other boys. Everybody loved him, and said that he wasborn storyteller. But no one could say why this modest young man with agentle voice may become one of the great presidents of America.
WhenAbraham Lincoln was 21 years old, his family moved to Illinois. Sincethen Abraham called the Illinois home. For some time he worked in ashop. After he joined the militia and fought in the Indiana war. Afterthe war he went home with educated young lawyer. This new friend gaveAbraham the Council to study law.
